Focusing is a method of attending to one's phenomenological experience by using gentle inquiry to respectfully dialogue with one's self. This particular form of Focusing is based on Eugene Grendlin's method as adapted by Ann Weiser Cornell. Focusing fits beautifully with the foundational gestalt concepts of phenomenology, dialogue, and the Paradoxical Theory of Change. In this salon, we will open for discussion the implementation of EMDR therapy for trauma within the framework of relational gestalt therapy.
