Social Justice From a Gestalt Perspective (Stefanie Funke, LMFT)

March 15 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Free

Postponed due to coronavirus. We will sent out messages with the new date when we know.

Social Justice is a hot topic these days. As therapists, we are seeing a wide variety of clients who are harmed by issues of oppression and prejudice. I will lead a discussion of how gestalt therapy fits with a social justice perspective. I will talk about aspects of gestalt therapy such as phenomenology and field theory to make a connection between gestalt therapy and social justice.

Stefanie Funke has a private practice in West Los Angeles and has worked at EXIS Recovery, an outpatient dual-diagnosis treatment center in Los Angeles, where she saw individual clients and facilitated groups. Stefanie has been training in Gestalt therapy with the Pacific Gestalt Institute (PGI) in Los Angeles for over 9 years and is president of the board of the GTILA.
