Legos as an Expressive Modality with Teens: A Gestalt Play Therapy Approach (Stephanie Pawlowicz, RPT)

September 16 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Free
Working with teens can be challenging! This workshop will provide an
overview of Gestalt Play Therapy as developed by Violet Oaklander, and
experiential practice in working with teens in a medium they understand and
enjoy—Legos. In the act of creating and playing, participants will experience
Gestalt Therapy’s focus on contact and the importance of the dialogic
relational processes embodied and lived in the moment. Based in Gestalt
principles, attendees will learn how this expressive modality can bring deeper
meaning and experience to the play therapy encounter.
Stephanie Pawlowicz is an RPT and a Certified Gestalt Therapist with Children
and Adolescents. She is in private practice in Santa Barbara and a core faculty
member with the West Coast Institute and adjunct faculty at Pacifica Graduate
Institute and Antioch University.
