Focusing: Developing an I-Thou Relationship with One’s Self (Ren Barnebey, LMFT, CGT)
October 21 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pmFree
Focusing is a method of attending to one’s phenomenological experience by using gentle inquiry to respectfully dialogue with one’s self. This particular form of Focusing is based on Eugene Grendlin’s method as adapted by Ann Weiser Cornell.
Focusing fits beautifully with the foundational gestalt concepts of phenomenology, dialogue, and the Paradoxical Theory of Change. In this experiential salon, we will practice Focusing with ourselves as well as explore ways to use focusing with partners and clients.
